Supporting the regional community: MediaMarktSaturn staff donate to 26 charities

  • €72,000 raised for 26 charities in the Ingolstadt region
  • Special donation for the inclusive playground ‘Playhill – Play for All’

Ingolstadt, 29 May 2019: At last year’s Christmas party, MediaMarktSaturn staff donated a total of €72,000 to 26 charities from the Ingolstadt region in the traditional raffle. For the first time, a focus project was chosen in the form of support for an inclusive playground. The sum of €30,000 has been put towards the construction of ‘Playhill – Play for All’ by the Goals for Kids association on the grounds of the 2020 Regional Horticultural Show.

The annual Christmas raffle has become a permanent fixture of the Christmas party for MediaMarktSaturn employees. Donations for charities in the Ingolstadt region are raised from the sale of raffle tickets, and staff then vote on which organizations will benefit. A new addition this year was a special donation of €30,000 to help fund the construction of an inclusive playground known as ‘Playhill – Play for All’. Children can look forward to an ability trampoline, a spyglass and kaleidoscope, a talk tube, tactile elements and a cymbal tree. The groundbreaking ceremony for the playground is planned for June 2019.

“Once again, our staff have impressively demonstrated MediaMarktSaturn’s close bond with the region and generously supported important social institutions. This year, we are especially looking forward to the construction of ‘Playhill – Play for All’. It’s a great way to bring children with and without disabilities together,” said Ferran Reverter, CEO of the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group.
