Staff donate generously to regional charities

Ingolstadt, March 23rd, 2017: Acting on behalf of its employees, the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group distributed the tidy sum of nearly €80,000 today to 34 charitable organizations based in the Ingolstadt Region. The money had been raised in the annual Christmas raffle.

The grand raffle at the annual Christmas party is a popular tradition among the company’s entire workforce. This time, the tickets sold raised nearly €80,000 for charitable purposes. Both representatives of the beneficiaries and MediaMarktSaturn employees were invited to attend the presentation ceremony held on the MediaMarktSaturn Campus.

“The fact that our employees have donated so much money for charitable organizations in and around Ingolstadt highlights the close links between the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group and the region,” declared Pieter Haas, CEO of the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group. “We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to those dedicating themselves to helping others – mostly as volunteers in their free time – in the beneficiary organizations. This is social cohesion at its best!”

Working together, the staff chose 34 charitable associations and institutions which care for the sick and needy or perform welfare work for children and teenagers in the Ingolstadt region.
