Karel Dörner to temporarily serve as Chief Technology Officer of MediaMarktSaturn

Ingolstadt, July 10, 2017: Karel Dörner (43), Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company and Head of McKinsey Digital Labs in Europe, will assume responsibility for the role of Chief Technology Officer of MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group effective immediately. Dörner’s responsibilities include, in particular, the technology-oriented further development of the group. He is assuming this role until the position can be permanently filled. He will also remain a Senior Partner at McKinsey during his term at MediaMarktSaturn.

Dörner has more than 20 years of experience in retail and technology and is an expert on online/multichannel retail as a co-founder and former Managing Director of eBay Europe. Karel Dörner also founded Aventeon Inc., a provider of mobile ERP software based in the US, and was its CEO. As one of the directors of Digital McKinsey in Germany, he also runs the McKinsey Digital Labs in Western Europe. He has known MediaMarktSaturn for more than ten years, in which he has accompanied the company on various projects.
